Opening the door to new opportunities

Education & Training Support

At Hope Housing, we recognise that building skills and confidence is key to moving forward and achieving independence. Our Education and Training support provides residents with the opportunity to develop essential skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Led by Nelida Evans, Education and Training Support Worker, this programme focuses on helping residents gain practical knowledge that can support everyday life, further education, and employment.

Residents can access support with Maths and English functional skills, helping to improve confidence in literacy and numeracy. We also offer basic IT skills, enabling residents to navigate online services, job searches, and everyday digital tasks.

For those looking to take the next step into employment, support is available with CV writing, helping residents present their skills and experiences effectively.

In addition, Spanish lessons are offered as an opportunity to learn something new, build confidence, and engage in personal development.

Through a person-centred approach, this support helps residents develop the skills, confidence, and motivation needed to move forward into training, employment, and independent living.

Maths & English Functional Skills

At Hope Housing, we support residents to build confidence in Maths and English — essential skills for everyday life and independence.

Our sessions are tailored to each individual, helping residents improve reading, writing, communication, and numeracy through practical, real-life learning such as budgeting, managing money, and completing forms.

Delivered in a relaxed and supportive environment, our aim is to build confidence, reduce anxiety, and help residents take positive steps towards further training, education, and employment.

Basic IT Skills

In today’s world, having basic IT skills is essential for managing daily life, accessing services, and moving forward with confidence.

Our Basic IT support helps residents build confidence using computers, smartphones, and the internet in a simple, supportive environment. Sessions are tailored to individual ability and delivered at a comfortable pace.

Residents can learn how to send emails, complete online forms, search for information, and access services such as Universal Credit. We also support safe internet use and job searching, including online applications.

Our aim is to help residents feel confident using technology, enabling them to manage daily tasks and move forward into education, training, and employment.

CV Writing Support

A strong CV is often the first step towards employment.

Our CV Writing support helps residents create clear, professional CVs that reflect their skills, experience, and strengths. Whether starting from scratch or updating an existing CV, support is tailored to each individual.

Residents are supported to identify transferable skills, structure their CV effectively, and present themselves confidently to employers. We also offer guidance on personal statements, explaining gaps in employment, and preparing CVs for specific roles.

Our aim is to help residents feel confident in presenting themselves and taking positive steps towards employment, training, and independence.

Spanish Lessons

Learning something new can be a great way to build confidence, improve wellbeing, and support personal development.

Our Spanish lessons give residents the opportunity to learn basic language skills in a relaxed and supportive environment. Sessions are engaging, accessible, and suitable for all levels.

Residents can learn everyday words and phrases, simple conversation skills, and gain an introduction to Spanish language and culture.

Our aim is to build confidence, boost self-esteem, and provide a positive, enjoyable learning experience that supports personal growth and wellbeing.
