How can I apply for housing?

To be considered for accommodation at Hope Housing, applicants must be, or wanting to achieve, abstinence from drugs and alcohol.

Application Process:

  • Eligibility: We will assess your eligibility for housing.

  • Referral: Hope Housing accepts referrals from any agency as well as self-referrals.

Worried About Money?

If you’re struggling with bills, debt, or finding that your money isn’t stretching far enough, you’re not alone. Financial difficulties can feel overwhelming, but support is available to help you regain control and move forward with confidence.

Citizens Advice BCP provides free, confidential advice to help you manage your finances and understand what support you may be entitled to. Whether you need help dealing with debt, applying for benefits, or managing rising living costs, their team can guide you through your options. You may be able to claim benefits you’re not currently receiving, or increase your existing income. Seeking advice early can make a real difference in preventing your situation from becoming more difficult.

In addition, Faithworks CMA (Community Money Advice) offers further support for those who need help managing money or dealing with debt. Their service includes one-to-one debt advice and budgeting support, helping you build the skills and confidence to stay financially stable. This service is delivered by trained volunteers and is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Faithworks CMA operates from local food banks across the area, including Christchurch, Boscombe, Winton, Bournemouth, Poole, Wimborne, and Blandford, making support accessible within your community.

Need Mental Health Support?

If you’re struggling with your wellbeing or mental health, support is available — you don’t have to go through it alone.

Access Wellbeing hubs in Poole and Boscombe offer free, walk-in support with no appointment needed, making it easy to get help when you need it.

Friendly wellbeing co-ordinators are on hand to listen, offer guidance, and connect you with the right support. They can also help with a range of related issues, including education, employment, benefits, financial worries, and building social connections.

Support is available for managing stress, improving wellbeing, and coping with challenges such as bereavement and grief.

Need Health Support?

If you’re experiencing homelessness or struggling to access healthcare, support is available. Getting the right help early can make a big difference to your health and wellbeing.

The HealthBus Trust provides accessible, specialist healthcare for people in the BCP area. Their mobile, GP-led service delivers care directly to those sleeping rough or living in emergency accommodation, ensuring support is available where it’s needed most.

The HealthBus offers a weekly drop-in service where you can speak to a GP or nurse in a safe, welcoming environment. This includes access to healthcare advice, treatment, and support, as well as refreshments and a warm space.

Need LGBT+ Support?

If you are part of the LGBT+ community and are sofa surfing, at risk of homelessness, or currently experiencing homelessness, support is available.

Specialist services understand the unique challenges you may face and can provide safe, inclusive support to help you move forward.

The LGBT+ Network for Change offers support and guidance for those facing housing difficulties.

Young people can also access dedicated support through the Albert Kennedy Trust (akt), which works specifically with LGBT+ individuals at risk of homelessness.

For mental health support, Steps2Wellbeing provides help with issues such as anxiety and depression, with the option to self-refer.
