Jo, 51, came to Hope from prison and has now been in recovery for 3 years. She engaged with relapse prevention, attends yoga and has completed the Ignite course.

A weekly cookery class helping clients to learn basic cooking skills.
This is combined with healthy eating and hygienic food preparation.
Monthly lessons with a qualified teacher in our garden cabin.
Our Hope and YMCA team, Raiders, is the current Champions of the AFC Bournemouth 2019 Unity League!
All clients are welcome to join this team, which benefits from regular training and matches. Clients have reported that they have found great benefit in terms of both their personal fitness and peer support.
Regular visits from a podiatrist help clients to repair and take care of client’s feet on a regular basis.
Clients are encouraged to increase the level of exercise and to eat healthier meals.
Our free fully equipped gym is open on a daily basis for all residents to use.
We have a bike repair workshop that supplies bikes for clients to borrow during their time at Hope.
Enthusiastic clients can help our Chair of Trustees to repair donated bikes in a weekly workshop.
Hope residents have membership at local tennis courts and we have a table tennis table.
We put on table tennis tournaments complete with a prize giving ceremony each summer.
Our main site at St Swithun’s Road South in Bournemouth has a well-stocked garden.
Complete with a vegetable patch for residents to use, whether to help with the gardening or just to sit and relax.
Clients also have the opportunity to go fishing on an ad hoc basis in the local area of Hope Housing.
We regularly hold social activities to get everyone together – such as Bingo, BBQ’s and lunches.
Providing an opportunity to eat, relax and catch up with friends in other houses.
